Lucy Stone is a part-time newspaper reporter in Tinker’s Cove, Maine and can’t resist investing a good crime/mystery, even when one of the victims is her daughter. While in New York with her daughter, Elizabeth, after winning an all-expenses-paid mother-daughter makeover from Jolie magazine, the magazine’s fashion editor suddenly falls ill and dies and Elizabeth appears to have the same symptoms and is rushed to the hospital. Lucy begins investigating at the magazine and finds a tense, bickering staff who are in fear of the arrogant, condescending magazine editor and nobody wants to talk. But Lucy isn’t deterred and ends up finding valuable clues that help solve the mystery, but not until she herself thrust into danger and intrigue. A quick, compelling style for readers who like a light mystery, but not too light.
