The More of Less (Becker)

The More of Less (Becker)

Becker brings up a lot of very good points about all the excess belongings we all own and made me think again that I need to pare down the stuff in my home.  I agree with much of what he says about excess belongings actually creating stress. I hate clutter anyway, and listening to this book got me motivated again to try to cull more unneeded stuff from my home.   I have over the past year or so been really…

Princess Ever After (Hauck)

Princess Ever After (Hauck)

Although the story was a bit unbelievable at times (but then again, aren’t most fairy tales somewhat unbelievable), I really enjoyed it. This Road We Traveled (Kirkpatrick)

This Road We Traveled (Kirkpatrick)

This book was interesting, but I had a hard time getting into it.  It wasn’t until the last few chapters that I really started to enjoy the book.  I don’t know why, but it felt like very dry reading throughout most of it, when I really expected a good story about a family on the trek west. A Miracle of Hope (Reid)

A Miracle of Hope (Reid)

This was the first book by Ruth Reid I had read and I look forward to reading more.  I really enjoyed this story, the author incorporated some modern day dilemmas not often talked about in Amish fiction.  The audio (via Hoopla) was very well done and made me want to listen non-stop until I had finished the story. Title: A Miracle of Hope Series: Amish Wonders #1 Author: Ruth Reid Genre: Christian Fiction (Amish) Publisher: Thomas Nelson Release Date: December…

When Mercy Rains (Sawyer)

When Mercy Rains (Sawyer)

I always enjoy Kim Vogel Sawyer’s books.  They are similar to Beverly Lewis’ books, but not necessarily Amish.  This particular book/series is based on a Mennonite family.  There were some twists to the story that made it interesting.  I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the rest of the titles in this series. Title: When Mercy Rains Series: Zimmerman Restoration Trilogy #1 Author: Kim Vogel Sawyer Genre: Christian Fiction Publisher: Waterbrook Release Date: January 1, 2014 Format: Trade…

How to Catch a Prince (Hauck)

How to Catch a Prince (Hauck)

This was my least favorite of this series.  This was the first time the author included some supernatural elements in the story and they just made it a little too strange and unbelievable.  I listened to the unabridged audio version of this book Title: How to Catch a Prince (Hauck) Series: Royal Wedding #3 Author: Rachel Hauck Genre: Christian Fiction Publisher: Zondervan Release Date: February 24, 2015 Format: eAudio (Hoopla) Pages: 355 Pages Find this title in the CRDL Catalog
